Bus Rides

bus

Mercedes double decker tour buses – we experienced a large part of a tour from those cozy multicolored seats. Tour members bonded as we sang songs, played games, and drooled on our neighbor as we caught a few minutes of sleep. Let’s hear your stories of bus ride mayhem!

BUS 4 was off the hook! Massage chains, singing, coloring pictures for the windows, beer steins falling on my face… piccolos falling on my face… messy hot hair. Love to my bus.

…..and just to clarify Lori’s AWESOME, FUN post: Those were SOUVENIR BEER STEINS that our members bought to take home to their loved ones! ;-)

    The Gummi-Bear Game. (1998)
Sigh. We were young, dumb and crazy!!!

Doing makeup on a few guys that were very sound sleepers on our busy…. man did they regret falling asleep!

I think we had just as much fun in the bus as we did when we did on the ground and performing!

Yes!!! I was thinking those same things. Our bus can thank us and Cathy for the Gummy Bear game. :) Seriously, we’re so lucky half the band didn’t get mono! And I feel so bad for the person who had to clean the windows! LOL! And, I still have pictures of a few of the guys with make-up on on my Spirit bulletin board at my mom’s house. I also felt like I could write a book about various sleeping positions on a bus after it was all over, too!

Laura, in ’99 we did makeup on a few non-sleeping guys; they were very good sports!

For most of the ’99 trip, my seat-mate was Lauren Burton. (Anyone know how I can find her, by the way?) Normally, we could sleep through an entire transit with no problem. However, this usually meant that she would lay against me and I would just lean back in the chair. I cannot count how many times my head would lose balance and fall forward, smacking Lauren right in the back of the head! I felt so bad but she pretended not to mind very much. :)
